I've decided to go ahead and just open commissions, so requests are now closed. The request I'm working on at the moment will be the last one ;]

I probably won't get many commissions (if any) lol, but I may as well just have it open as an option.

I do not take points. I don't even know what they're really for lol other than to buy DA prints and such, and although I have several prints I'd like to buy, I have many other things that my money needs to go to instead. With that being said...

Stationary icons will cost 50 cents and animated icons $1.00 through paypal. All icons will automatically be made transparent unless you tell me otherwise.

I will do my best to create whatever it is that you want, but I do have areas I excel in. I can easily create human OC's and wolves/dogs.

I am limited in what I can do to make icons move, so most of them will only have blinking eyes, a little moving heart, or be bobbing up and down. You can see examples of this in my gallery: pinkfirefly135.deviantart.com/…

The icons toward the front are my newer icons, and you can expect that your icon will look like those - not like the ones toward the back lol, which are very old and some of my very first icons I've ever made.

If you're not satisfied with your icon, I will do my best to try and re-make it. Keep in mind to not be too picky, for there's only so much I can do with pixels (especially since I'm a bit of an amateur).

They won't get made super quickly, I'll need time to make them just like everything else. And I can't guarantee that they'll all be animated (since this is practice), but I'll try to make sure they are - even if it's just a little thing.

So, recently in Minnesota, they've decided that they need to start up a wolf hunting/trapping season.

This absolutely disgusts me. I've been involved in a little protest throughout entire process so far I believe, and we've had progress, but not much.

At first, when I contacted senators, the ones who didn't agree with me gave the reason that the "wolf population is getting out of control and could become potentially harmful to humans, and are a threat to pets and livestock."

The wolf population in Minnesota has been stable since 1998. Which MEANS that they are not increasing in number, nor decreasing. They already have a high mortality rate due to disease, starvation, and poaching, and have been controlling their own numbers since 1998. What do you think legalizing hunting them is going to do to their population? Because this has been mentioned countlessly (apparently that isn't a word?) along with many other vital facts to these senators and people in charge of legalizing this wolf hunting/trapping season, the ONLY reason they could give at the testimony FOR hunting them was "for their pelts."

Really?

And they're still planning to legalize it?

REALLY???

You're going to start hunting an animal that was JUST taken off the endangered species list less than a year ago to hunt them for their PELTS? I guess if that's what they were truly after this whole time, then there's no way to talk them out of it. Seeing as these senators were making up excuses as reasons to hunt/trap them, only to be shown up by facts and STILL insist on hunting them...

If there was REALLY a problem with wolves, they would have taken the time to recount the wolf population, which hasn't been counted since 2007. More diligently acquired data should have been taken for an animal that was so recently removed from the Endangered Species List. A five year moratorium was even introduced (allowing for that extra data to be gathered), but because wolves aren't REALLY causing a problem, the moratorium failed, and they still want to rush into killing wolves for their fur.

Personally, I believe they kept up the act of "wolves are becoming a problem" until everything was basically a done deal, and THEN the real truth behind their motives was revealed.

Because the wolf population has remained stable, their numbers will ONLY decrease if a hunting/trapping season is introduced. Much more drastically than they realize. For instance, say you kill an alpha male of a pack. Other packs will find out that particular pack has become weak and steal the little food they DO have, let alone maybe hurt or even kill other members of the pack. Or what if you kill a mother wolf who is out looking for food for her babies? Not only do you kill the mother wolf, but you basically kill the pups as well. Wolf packs generally tend to take care of each other, but if a hunting season is introduced, not all the orphan pups will be able to be looked after. More starvation and disease will emerge, killing off more wolves than the ones just being killed from hunting.

The final decision is being made tonight at 7:00. The little protest group gave out the e-mails and phone numbers of the senators we need to contact before then... but we all know that e-mails will not reach them before 7 tonight. Some of the senators I'd written to before took at least a week to reply to my e-mail, so the only option is to call.

And I am NOT good on the phone. I thought seriously about calling for a while, but I would sound like such a fool. I get so nervous that I stutter - I can't imagine how I would be on the phone with a big, professional senator. Not to mention, if nothing everyone has done in our protest has changed their mind so far, even to the point of declining the five year moratorium, they are not going to change their minds at the last minute - ESPECIALLY when the people we're supposed to contact are the people who are basically RUNNING the hunt. It just makes me so sick to my stomach.

Anyways, I just needed a spot to vent. I should probably just start up a blog instead of posting everything in my journal xD. But hey, it's my DA and I can do whatever I want ;]
