Nice work! I love how you captured the shadow line with yin/yang.
Random curiosity: Any inspiration for the eastern symbolism? Your other lip shots have a seductive/colorful feel to them; while this one feels, hmm how would I put it, like you have sealed the emotions or muted them in the shot. Don't get me wrong I like both techniques, I was just curious if you are moving towards a different, over all arching theme in your work?
Well, yes I agree this is a bit different than my usual lip photos lol. But no, I'm not really moving toward any particular theme - I just do what I feel like at the time, to be honest xD. I felt like this photo was missing something, so maybe emotion is what it's missing?
hmmm I would agree it's "missing emotion", but it feels like its being repressed/sealed on purpose (maybe like pent up positive/negative emotion and the only thing that gets through the seal are the mute emotions). The pale color of the skin/lips/light and the closed mouth give me that feeling (which I like btw). On the other hand, it's your work, (I'm just spouting random thoughts anyhow) so if you feel its missing something...to the tinting filter it goes. = )
That's an interesting way of looking at it. And I do greatly appreciate the thoughts =] I'll probably just leave it the way it is haha, but it is something to definitely consider for the future.
